How to apply

This page explains how to use Choose & Move to apply for homes to rent with whg. There are three main steps:

  • Register for Choose & Move
  • Complete a Social Housing application
  • Bid for homes

  • Register for Choose & Move

To rent a home from whg, you will first need to register for Choose & Move.

Once you have registered, you will be provided with a reference number which will allow you to log in to Choose & Move at any time.

Click on the register button on the top right hand side of the Home page to begin the form. You will need to provide National Insurance numbers for anyone on the application who is over the age of 16.

When you have completed the form, click Image of submit button

You will be given a login reference, and you will also create a password and memorable date. You should keep these safe as you will need them each time you log in to Choose & Move.

  • Complete a Social Housing application

Once you have registered, you will need to complete a Social Housing application before you can begin bidding for homes with whg.

You will only need to do this once. To begin the application, Login to your account.

From the My Account screen, click on the Apply for Social Housing link

Complete the social housing form and on the final page, press Image of submit button

Once your application has been verified and approved, you will be able to bid on properties you are eligible for. To view the status of your application, click on My account in the top right of the screen.

  • Bid for homes

Once you have registered and your Social Housing application has been approved, you can begin to apply for homes that you are eligible for.

This is called 'bidding'. To find homes you are eligible to bid for, login to your account.

Click Properties and recent lets search, select the type of property you are searching for, enter an area and press Search. If you just press Search without selecting a property type or area, all available properties will be displayed.

A list of properties will be displayed. If you are logged in, you will see in the bottom right hand corner if you are eligible or not. Your potential position on the shortlist at time of bidding is also displayed. This position can change.

If you are eligible and would like to bid on this property, select the 'apply for property' link.

Confirm your contact details are correct and update them if needed and then press Confirm details and apply.

How to view and withdraw bids

You must first be logged into the system to view and withdraw bids. Once logged in you will need to navigate to the My Account page, from here there is a panel on the right hand side with a link to My Bids.

Your active bids will be displayed.

To view historic bids, use the filters.

To withdraw a bid, click in the checkbox to the left of the bid and press Image of withdraw selected button
